Skin Rejuvenation

We offer several very effective ways to help you look your best:

  • Portrait® skin regeneration is unlike any other treatment available today. It is the first and only technology proven to deliver true skin regeneration.
  • PhotoRejuvenation is a series of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments that improve the appearance of Rosacea, flushing and sun-damaged skin, age spots, skin texture and photo aging. Treatment also improves the appearance of mild acne scars, reduces large pores, corrects dark circles around the eyes, and reduces fine lines. Additionally, this exhilarating treatment involves little to no 'down time'.
During an MD Peel™ treatment, the hand piece gently traces over your skin, delivering sterile micro crystals that gently exfoliate your skin. Simultaneously, a vacuum
  • whisks away the exfoliated skin and excess crystal, leaving your face instantly smoother.
  • Chemical peels are topically applied acids that aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skin's surface. They create a uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin. Depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated allowing new growth to be exposed, creating a fresh vibrant appearance.

Skin Rejuvenation

Portrait®
Portrait® skin regeneration is unlike any other treatment available today. It is the first and only technology proven to deliver true skin regeneration.

What kind of improvements can I expect to see?
You will see improvements in skin texture, tone and reduction of fine wrinkles at lower levels of treatment and reduction of deep wrinkles at higher levels of treatment. New healthier collagen growth will improve contours and enhance your overall appearance.

How does it work?
The innovative Portrait® technology transfers nitrogen plasma energy to the architecture of the skin using a non-contact technique producing controlled, uniform regeneration of your skin.

How soon will I see a difference and how long will it last?
You will see results soon after your treatment. However, one of the most striking and unique advantages of Portrait® is that it stimulates a natural process of regeneration, producing results that progressively improve over time. Clinical studies show that this improvement progression continues for at least one year after treatment. Patients are amazed when they compare their appearances before treatment and twelve months later.

PhotoRejuvenation
PhotoRejuvenation is a series of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments that improve the appearance of Rosacea, flushing and sun-damaged skin, age spots, skin texture and photo aging. Treatment also improves the appearance of mild acne scars, reduces large pores, corrects dark circles around the eyes, and reduces fine lines. Additionally, this exhilarating treatment involves little to no 'down time'.

How does it work?
An intense light is applied as a series of gentle pulses to the treatment area. Without damaging the skin, the light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation. Heat then impairs the targets vessels or lesions and the body begins a natural healing process. Lesions darken before they flake off or are absorbed by the body. Treatment can take place as frequently as every three weeks.

How many treatments will I need?
For optimal results, a series of five treatments are recommended. Some patients see significant improvement with two to three treatments while others might require more. Follow-up treatments may be needed once a year to maintain desired results.

MD Peel™
During an MD Peel™ treatment, the hand piece gently traces over your skin, delivering sterile micro crystals that gently exfoliate your skin. Simultaneously, a vacuum whisks away the exfoliated skin and excess crystal, leaving your face instantly smoother. The treatment takes between 20 and 30 minutes depending on the body area you want treated.

The rejuvenated, smooth and softened appearance of your skin is visible from your very first treatment. Typically a series of 4 to 10 treatments, followed by a maintenance program, is required to reach and sustain the desired goal.

Chemical Peel

What is a chemical peel?
Chemical peels are topically applied acids that aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skin's surface. They create a uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin. Depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated allowing new growth to be exposed, creating a fresh vibrant appearance.

What are the benefits?
Chemical peels can enhance your appearance by reducing blotchy and uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, freckling, age spots, sun-damaged skin, and acne scars in a relatively brief measure of time. Chemical peels accelerate the production of new cells. Enjoy fresh smooth skin - immediately after your first treatment.

Are there any side effects?
Chemical peels have become increasingly popular because of the array of advantages and relative lack of complications. Side effects are rare and usually temporary. Some side effects include uneven pigmentation, redness, and very infrequently scarring if the skin is not cared for appropriately. Sun protection is crucial to minimize the risk of side effects. A treatment program of individually suited products and sun protection will benefit your skin's ability to maintain the results of the peel. You can decrease the likelihood of side effects by carefully following the instructions your doctor.

Types of Chemical Peels

  • Superficial Peel - This peel is designed to help smoothen coarse, dry skin, improve the texture of sun-damaged skin, and even skin tone. The recovery is generally rapid and usually involves some minor flaking. A series of treatments is ordinarily recommended to obtain the desired result over a period of time. Typically there is no down time and with appropriate sun protection you can resume regular activities immediately.
  • Medium Peel - This peel contains a stronger potency of acids. Medium peels target the epidermis and upper dermis and cause the skin to slough within 5 to 7 days. Immediately after treatment the skin has a red appearance and is occasionally accompanied by swelling. Within a day the skin turns brown in color, and after 3 or 4 days the skin initiates the peeling process.
  • Deep Peel - This peel produces the most dramatic results. It is recommended for treating wrinkles, scars, blemishes and, in some cases, precancerous skin lesions. A deep peel targets the dermis. In some cases, anesthesia is required during the procedure to reduce the warm to hot stinging sensation. After a deep peel, the skin is red and can result in some swelling and blistering. A crust may form and the skin will turn brown just prior to peeling. many layers of the skin will peel over a period of one to two weeks. An ointment may be given to keep the area moist. Temporarily, the new skin will have the color and sensation of significant sunburn, which will gradually fade to your normal skin color.

Wrinkle Reduction

Wrinkle Reduction

We have many ways to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, from lotions and creams to lasers and treatments such as Botox® and Restylane®.

Here is a summary of the ways we can help.

Topical Treatments and Injections

  • Botox® injections are a simple, non-surgical procedure that smoothes the deep, persistent lines between your brows that developed over time. One ten-minute treatment - a few tiny injections - relaxes the muscles that cause those lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to four months.
  • Restylane® is a long lasting cosmetic filler that provides dramatic results for improving the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles and folds. This is a non-surgical solution to soften facial lines and wrinkles, restore volume and fullness to the skin, plump up lips, and fill in scars.
  • Juvéderm® injectable gel is a “next-generation” hyaluronic acid dermal filler that provides volume and is used to treat wrinkles and folds resulting from a loss of volume beneath the surface of the skin such as perioral lines and nasolabial folds (lines around your mouth and nose). Juvéderm® restores your skin's volume for a smooth, natural look and feel.
  • Sculptra® is injected into the skin for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss. Sculptra® is a synthetic injectable material known as "poly-L-lactic acid." It is biocompatible (a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body).

Lasers

  • PhotoRejuvenation is a series of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments that improve the appearance of Rosacea, flushing and sun-damaged skin, age spots, skin texture and photo aging. Treatment also improves the appearance of mild acne scars, reduces large pores, corrects dark circles around the eyes, and reduces fine lines.

Botox®

A Botox® Cosmetic treatment is a simple, non-surgical procedure that smoothes the deep, persistent lines between your brows that developed over time. One ten-minute treatment - a few tiny injections - relaxes the muscles that cause those lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to four months. The results are dramatic and apparent within days. In clinical trials, nearly 90% of men and women rated the improvement in their brow lines as moderate to better. For many, Botox® Cosmetic virtually "erases" these lines.

Botox® Cosmetic

It seems like everybody is talking about Botox® Cosmetic, the highly effective non-surgical procedure that can dramatically reduce your toughest wrinkle within 7 days and lasts up to four months.

So what is Botox® Cosmetic?
A Botox® Cosmetic treatment is a simple, non-surgical procedure that smoothes the deep, persistent lines between your brows that developed over time. One ten-minute treatment - a few tiny injections - relaxes the muscles that cause those lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to four months. The results are dramatic and apparent within days. In clinical trials, nearly 90% of men and women rated the improvement in their brow lines as moderate to better. For many, Botox® Cosmetic virtually "erases" these lines.

Unlike surgery, Botox® Cosmetic is fast, simple, and minimally invasive, with no downtime or recovery. Most people return directly to work or normal activity following treatment. Within days, they report looking more natural and relaxed.

What to expect from Botox® Cosmetic:
Your doctor will determine exactly where to administer several tiny injections to achieve the best results. No anesthesia is required, although they may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting. The entire procedure takes approximately ten minutes. Discomfort is minimal and brief - most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. It is unlikely you will develop significant side effects, although some people develop slight temporary bruising at the injection site, which can easily be covered by makeup. You may resume normal activity immediately. Within days you'll see a marked improvement which may continue to improve for as long as a week and should last up to four months.

Restylane®

Restylane® is a long-lasting cosmetic filler that provides dramatic results for improving the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles and folds. This is a non-surgical solution to soften facial lines and wrinkles, restore volume and fullness to the skin, plump up lips, and fill in scars. Restylane® injected into the lips can give back fullness to lips that have receded. The cosmetic results are visible immediately, bestowing you with a more youthful and invigorated look.

Restylane®

Dramatically smoother skin without surgery:
Facial lines and wrinkles are caused by a gradual breakdown of the body's collagen and the elastin fibers in the skin. No one is immune from experiencing this normal aging process. Squinting, frowning and smiling also inflict stress on the underlying collagen in the skin and accelerate the formation of these furrows. Until recently, injectable collagen was the most widely used available cosmetic filler to improve the appearance of these lines.

What are the benefits of a Restylane® treatment?

  • Immediately you will discern a smoothing of the wrinkles and folds
  • Restylane® will impart lift and a new firmness to your skin
  • With lip enhancement, the results will be a noticeably fuller and more sensuous contour
  • It is not necessary for you to be tested for skin sensitivity
  • The cosmetic results are visible immediately, bestowing you with a more youthful and invigorated look
  • When the effect of the treatment begins to diminish, you can replenish the area as needed

What is the treatment like?
Restylane® is injected in small amounts under your skin to fill creases, lines, wrinkles or folds. It is also injected around the lip area to create volume, resulting in a more youthful appearance. A skin test is not necessary prior to treatment, so treatment can be performed at any time. In order to optimize your comfort, the treatment area may be anesthetized with a topical cream or anesthetic block. Treatment results are immediately evident.

How long do the results last?
Depending on many factors such as your lifestyle, age and skin structure your results may last as long as six months to a year or more. You may require a touch-up treatment 2-4 weeks after the first treatment to achieve your desired result. Treatment to enhance the lips is reported to last much longer than treatment using standard collagen filler. When the effect of the treatment begins to diminish, you can replenish the area as needed.

How is Restylane® different from Collagen?
Restylane® has been demonstrated to last much longer than the standard bovine collagen injection. The occurrence of an allergic reaction is extremely rare due to the product's non-animal associated basis. Unlike injectable collagen filler that is made of bovine protein and can cause an allergic reaction in some patients, Restylane® is a natural substance, hyaluronic acid, which is a sugar molecule already present naturally in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® is similar to that found throughout your body, which gives volume and fullness to the skin. it is both biodegradable and compatible with human hyaluronic acid. Because of this compatibility, it is not necessary for you to be tested for skin sensitivity.

Juvederm®

Juvéderm® injectable gel is a “next-generation” hyaluronic acid dermal filler that provides volume and is used to treat wrinkles and folds resulting from a loss of volume beneath the surface of the skin such as perioral lines and nasolabial folds (lines around your mouth and nose). Juvéderm® restores your skin's volume for a smooth, natural look and feel.

Juvéderm®

As you age, your skin changes. For example, it reduces production of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). Over time, the loss of HA in your skin results in facial wrinkles and folds, like those "parentheses" lines around your mouth.

Juvéderm® injectable gel replaces the HA your skin has lost, bringing back volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds. A breakthrough in HA dermal fillers, Juvéderm® is the first smooth-consistency HA gel and the only HA filler that's FDA approved to last up to a year. When Juvéderm® was tested in a clinical setting among people who didn't know which filler they were getting, nearly 90% stated a preference for Juvéderm®.

How is JUVÉDERM® injectable gel different from BOTOX® Cosmetic?
Juvéderm® injectable gel is a “next-generation” hyaluronic acid dermal filler that provides volume and is used to treat wrinkles and folds resulting from a loss of volume beneath the surface of the skin such as perioral lines and nasolabial folds (lines around your mouth and nose). Juvéderm® restores your skin's volume for a smooth, natural look and feel. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a filler. BOTOX® Cosmetic relaxes muscle activity and is used to treat moderate to severe lines caused by the dominant frown muscles between the eyebrows (the glabellar area). This allows the two vertical lines between the brows, often referred to as the “11,” to temporarily diminish for a smoother appearance.

What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in all mammals that helps to hydrate and add volume to your skin. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has also been used for more than 20 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair.

Sculptra®

Sculptra® is injected into the skin for restoration and/or correction of the signs facial fat loss. Sculptra® is a synthetic injectable material known as "poly-L-lactic acid." It is a biocompatible (a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body). It has also been widely used for many years in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants, and other types of implants.

How long do Sculptra® treatment results last?
Treatment results will differ for each person. In a clinical study, treatment results lasted for up to 2 years after the first treatment session in most patients. Touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.

Are the results from Sculptra® immediate?
At the first treatment visit, it may appear that Sculptra® worked immediately because of swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute Sculptra®. In a few days, when the swelling goes down and water is absorbed by the body, the treated area may look as it did before treatment. Sculptra® takes time to gradually correct depressions in the skin.

How many Sculptra® treatments are required?
The number of treatment sessions and the amount of Sculptra® needed at each session will differ for each person. Patients with moderate facial fat loss may require 3 treatment sessions with at least 2 weeks between sessions. Patients with severe facial fat loss may require 4 to 5 treatment sessions with at least 2 weeks between sessions.

Retin-A

Retin-A

Retin-A is a topical cream that is a derivative of Vitamin A and is a very effective and safe treatment for comedonal acne, more commonly known as whiteheads and blackheads. It works by increasing skin cell turnover, which helps clear clogged pores. It also helps prevent the formation of acne.

Age Spots

Age Spots

Also known as 'sun spots,' these brownish spots appear on your face and body as a result of overexposure to the sun. The more your skin is exposed to the sun, the more spots will develop regardless of your age. As you probably already know, tanning is not healthy and will lead to premature wrinkles as well.

How do we treat them?

The best way to treat age spots is with lasers. The process is simple and generally causes the spots to completely disappear. Any pain is minimal and brief.

How long does a treatment session take?

Depending on the number of treatment areas, the process can take 10 to 30 minutes.

Melasma

Millions of women suffer from this skin condition. They feel embarrassed, unattractive, and old. Many use cosmetics to cover their dark, brown spots and do not know that there is prescription medicine that can fade their melasma!

What exactly is melasma?
Melasma is a natural darkening of the skin caused by excessive production of melanin - melanin is the pigment that causes your skin to tan. That's why the sun, which increases melanin production, usually makes your melasma worse. Melasma only occurs on the areas of your skin that are exposed to the sun.

What treatments are available to fade my melasma?
Fortunately, you don't have to live with melasma. There are different prescription and over-the-counter products that can be used alone or in combination to treat melasma. And there is a triple-combination product that your dermatologist can prescribe to lighten your moderate to severe melasma quickly.

Tri-Luma® Cream is a unique medicine because it combines 3 effective ingredients into 1 formula...giving you a single, once-a-day product to put on your face at bedtime.
